Maintenance & Repair August 27, 2026 TechnoRF

TechnoRF technical service covers repair, calibration and periodic maintenance of radio communication systems and RF infrastructure. Work is carried out with original spare parts as the Hytera authorised service centre for Türkiye, and every service action is recorded by device serial number.

From the Field

Details

For critical communication infrastructure the real cost is not the purchase — it is the outage. TechnoRF technical service exists to make that outage short, predictable and rare.

Fault diagnosis follows an order

Most situations described in the field as "the system is broken" are not a device fault. The correct sequence is:

1. Antenna. Loose, cracked, out of band? Has the vehicle antenna base seal let water in? 2. Battery. How old is it? Does the device shut down when transmitting? 3. Accessory. Is the jack cover missing? Are the contacts corroded? Is a badly fitting case holding the PTT down? 4. Channel plan. Is the device on the correct channel and talkgroup? 5. Repeater and power supply. Have the repeater output power and supply voltage been measured? 6. The device. Only when everything above has been ruled out.

When this order is not followed, working devices are sent for service while the real fault stays on site.

Periodic maintenance scope

  • Transmitter output power and receiver sensitivity measurement
  • Antenna and feed line VSWR check
  • Battery capacity testing and charge-cycle tracking
  • Seal, cover and housing integrity inspection
  • Channel plan verification and backup
  • Firmware version check

Original spare parts

For parts that affect ingress protection, using original components is a technical requirement rather than a preference. A device's IP67 rating is the result of a test performed with specific seal material and dimensions; fit a third-party seal and that test no longer represents the device.

The same applies to warranty: using non-original parts ends warranty coverage.

Fleet ageing

In a fleet of thirty devices the batteries are bought at the same time and age at the same time. Two years later the number of devices dying mid-shift rises sharply, and this is perceived as a system failure.

The remedy is to make battery replacement part of planned maintenance: purchase dates are held in the inventory and batteries are replaced in batches as they approach their cycle limit.

Service agreements

Maintenance agreements can include a defined response time, a spare device pool, periodic on-site inspection and reporting. For organisations where a communication outage stops the operation, this is the difference between a planned cost and an unplanned crisis.

Frequently Asked Questions

My radio does not reach — what should I check first?

The antenna. Most range complaints are caused not by the radio but by the antenna: a loose threaded connection, a cracked or dented antenna, an out-of-band antenna, or a vehicle antenna whose feed cable has taken in water. Second comes the battery — an aged battery causes a voltage drop during transmission. Check both before sending a device for service.

How often does a radio system need maintenance?

At least once a year; every six months for heavily used fleets in demanding environments. Maintenance covers output power and sensitivity measurement, antenna and feed line checks, battery capacity testing, seal and cover inspection, channel plan verification and firmware version checks.

Do you service radios purchased elsewhere?

Yes, on a chargeable basis. Warranty coverage applies only to devices purchased through the authorised channel with a manufacturer registration. If the frequency software does not match the Turkish band plan, reprogramming is recommended.

Is a spare device pool available during repair?

Yes, under maintenance agreements. For critical communication the response time matters more than the repair itself: a spare device keeps the operation running while the faulty unit is repaired.
