DMR Radio Systems
İZFAŞ, the operator of the İzmir Fair, supplied 50 genuine Hytera Li-ion batteries through TechnoRF to extend the life of a radio fleet used heavily throughout the year across fairs and events, raise the proportion of uninterrupted contact for field staff, and make battery management measurable. The project was not only a battery replacement: an inventory and charging management structure was set up alongside it. TechnoRF specified fourth-generation cell technology for longer runtime and more reliable field performance than the previous packs. A smart charging station and QR-code based inventory tracking let the logistics team monitor battery health online and identify units that have reached end of life. After the optimisation the daily charge cycle count fell and radios held out across a full shift.
A radio fleet used across a fair season fails through its batteries long before anything else wears out. The pattern is well known and rarely managed: packs are charged whenever there is an opportunity rather than on a cycle, capacity falls unevenly across the fleet, and nobody knows which packs are weak until one dies mid-shift. The device is blamed, a replacement radio is issued, and the weak pack goes back into circulation. Over a season this produces a fleet where a substantial fraction of the units are unreliable and none of them are identified.
Third-party battery packs are cheaper per unit and frequently a false economy in a heavily used fleet. Cell quality determines cycle life, capacity retention and behaviour under fast charging; protection circuitry determines what happens at the limits. In an environment where packs are charged aggressively between sessions and used to exhaustion, the difference between a pack rated for a few hundred cycles and one rated for substantially more shows up within a single season.
Attaching an identity to each pack is what converts battery management from an impression into data. Scanning a pack in and out of the charging station records how many cycles it has seen and when it was last capacity-checked, which means an ageing unit is retired on evidence rather than after it fails during an event. For a logistics team handling fifty packs across concurrent events, this is the only practical way to know what is actually in circulation.
Reducing the number of charge cycles per day is not about convenience; it is about extending fleet life. Every full cycle consumes a measurable fraction of a pack's service life, and a fleet that is topped up repeatedly through the day ages faster than one that runs a full shift and charges once. Packs with genuine runtime for the shift, combined with a charging routine that does not top up unnecessarily, reduce cycles and extend the interval before replacement is needed.
Price per pack is the least informative number. Cell generation and rated cycle life, capacity under the actual load rather than at the catalogue figure, behaviour under fast charge, compatibility with the charging infrastructure already in place, whether the packs can be identified and tracked individually, and warranty terms together determine what the fleet costs to run. TechnoRF supplies genuine batteries, accessory management, maintenance and technical service for event and organisation operators in Turkey.
