In a classified zone the radio is judged first on whether it can produce an ignition source. Certification is granted to the assembly — radio plus that specific battery, and where applicable that antenna and accessory — so fitting a standard battery ends the approval immediately. The zone map comes from the facility’s explosion protection document, not from the supplier.
