In conventional DMR each talkgroup sits on a fixed channel and users wait when it is busy — even when the channel next to it is idle. XPT links the repeaters over IP and shares their slots as a pool, so the system assigns a free slot to each call as it begins.

The result is more usable capacity from the same frequencies. No additional spectrum is licensed and no controller is bought, housed, powered or maintained.

XPT is a Hytera architecture, so the system is single-vendor by design.
