XNMS is the software that turns a set of repeaters into an estate someone can actually see. It comes in a free Express version and a paid Standard version.

• Service data for all repeaters and radios over a chosen time range, with repeater RSSI ranges and repeater and system logs, queryable and exportable
• Statistics across the estate by time range, with export
• Topology and status — repeater positions and states on an online or offline map, with total, alarmed, offline and normal counts
• Live view of services on a selected repeater or XPT site
• Diagnostics — the operating state of a selected repeater, with key parameters over the last 30 seconds
• Remote parameter read and write, and repeater index, TX/RX frequency, site alias and site ID

Received signal strength over time is the closest thing a radio system has to a health record. A gradual decline at one repeater usually means a connector taking water or an antenna that has moved — both findable before anyone reports poor coverage, and both far cheaper to fix then.
