Smart Dispatch Plus is the dispatch layer for organisations running conventional DMR — the systems that do not need trunking but do need a control position.

Server, gateway and client can be installed on one computer or distributed across locations. For a single-site operation that means one machine; for a multi-site one it means a dispatcher at each location working against a shared server. The architecture does not force either.

Works with repeaters and with mobile radios acting as the network interface.

• Calls — individual, group and all-call, dispatcher intercom, SIP calling
• Recording of voice traffic
• Messaging — short messages, scheduled messages, email access
• Location services — live tracking, history playback, geofencing, speed limit alerts and points of interest

Geofencing and speed alerts are the features that repay themselves fastest in vehicle operations, because they replace supervision that would otherwise have to be done by asking.

Whether the system will be run from one position or several, and whether that position is staffed continuously. A dispatch console that nobody is watching adds recording and location history but not coordination — which is still worth having, but is a different purchase. See command and control.
