The Hytera AN0450M02 covers 440–460 MHz. An antenna performs to specification only inside its own band: fitting one that does not cover the frequency your organisation is assigned reduces radiated power and raises VSWR, which the radio experiences as lost range rather than as a fault.
The connector is UHF. Connector type is a mechanical constraint rather than a preference — it has to match the radio, and an adapter in the path introduces its own loss.
Gain is 3.5 dBi. Gain is not extra power; it is directionality. A higher-gain antenna flattens the radiation pattern, which helps across open ground and hurts between floors of a building.
